A message from Sam............

The 2nd annual "Celebrate America" in beautiful downtown Hammond, Louisiana is set for July 4th, 2015.  With the help of our community sponsors, we enjoyed a very successful celebration last year.

Plans are underway for another old fashioned 4th of July observance honoring our country and our past and present dedicated service personnel.  We have the support of Hammond Mayor, Pete Panepinto, and the Downtown Development District as well.

This year's event will be an exciting, fun-filled patriotic event.  There will be a 5K run, jambalaya cook-off, cake walk, silent auction, live music and children' activities hosted by the Louisiana Children's Discovery Center.  We will also have hamburgers, sweets, water and soft drinks.  The Steel Soldiers will be there with vintage military vehicles, and there will be a display of old automobiles by various car clubs.  No alcohol will be served on the premises.

Come help us "Celebrate America" by honoring our country and the men and women of our armed forces who have given so much to preserve our freedom.

The 5K run starts at 8:30 a.m. and leaves from Cate Square in downtown Hammond.  The main event begins at 10:00 a.m. and last until 3:00 p.m.  Please come and enjoy the festivities honoring America and our service personnel.
